According to a recent North Country Public Radio report, , by Emily Russel, Trump supporter, Bruce Bourgeois sees, January 6th a lot differently. Bourgeois is from Virginia but spends summers in the small Adirondack town of Saranac Inn. He thinks Trump is innocent and doesn’t trust the investigation.
“From what I can see, he didn’t break any law,” said Bourgeois. I ask him how he would react if the committee determines otherwise. “I wouldn’t believe them. It’s a rigged committee, quite frankly,” replied Bourgeois.
I used to think that people who give Donald Trump their unquestioning support were either stupid or willfully ignorant, Ditto, those who cling to the belief that the 2020 election was rigged.
81,284,666 people voted for Joe Biden or against Trump. He lost the election by 7,060,347 votes. And, not one Republican officeholder objecting to Biden’s victory has objected to their own wins, on the same day, on the same ballots, using the same election systems — not one!
Given the above, it is reasonable to conclude that Trump supporters are neither stupid or willfully ignorant. They know Trump is a lying conman, a moral degenerate with no redeeming qualities — and they don’t care — they feel that are entitled to rule the country because old white guys like them, allegedly, made America Great — so, if elections that don’t go their way, elections be damned! — wfw ####
